What is Tech Wars?

Tech Wars is a biennial competition that brings together the best service technicians from Caterpillar dealerships across the country to compete in real-world diagnostic and repair challenges. It’s a battle of skill, speed, and accuracy, designed to recognize and reward the highly trained professionals who keep equipment in peak condition.

Hosted at select Caterpillar dealer locations, Tech Wars is a rigorous competition that mirrors the high-pressure situations technicians face every day in the field. The competition not only serves as a platform to showcase technical excellence but also fosters camaraderie, professional growth, and continuous learning among technicians.

Competition Categories:

• GCI (General Construction Industry) – Focused on large construction equipment and earthmoving applications.
• BCP (Building Construction Products) – Centered on compact construction machines used in residential and commercial applications.
• EPG (Electrical Power Generation) – Encompassing power systems, generators, and electrical infrastructure solutions.
• Industrial – Covering a wide range of non-construction applications, including manufacturing, processing, and material handling.

What to Expect This Season

This year’s Tech Wars will bring together the top technicians from Caterpillar dealerships, including Ziegler CAT, to go head-to-head in a series of challenges designed to test every aspect of their skills.
