  • Critical Power Solution

    Critical Power Plus

    Service is completed in two on-site visits a year. An optional 31-point engine and generator inspection is available on a monthly or quarterly basis, if desired.

    Every six months
    • Comprehensive 61-point engine and generator inspection. Support the reliability of your generator set.
      • Inspect and test engine, generator, day tank, battery charger, engine heater, gauges, and meters
      • Inspect emergency engine safety shutdown systems
      • Test oil and coolant for contamination
      • Test run engine generator
    • Comprehensive fuel testing. Keep your fuel in top condition.
    Every 12 months
    • Replacement of engine oil and fuel filters. Prevent loss of engine power and no-start situations.
      • Change and replace engine oil with high-grade oil and replace fuel and oil filters
    • Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) maintenance and testing. Prepare for a seamless transition from your main and backup power.
      • Transfer switch testing, inspection, and adjustment
      • Thermographic inspection
      • Additional inspections requiring load transfer can be performed with customer permission
    • Load bank testing. Confirm the ability of your generator to produce a given kW and attain proper engine operating temperature. Testing more frequently may be recommended, depending on your equipment application.
      • Exercise cooling system
      • Inspect and reseat piston rings
      • Burn off carbon deposits throughout equipment and dissipate condensation build-up on copper windings
      • Test engine safety shutdown systems
    • Megohmmeter testing. Measure the integrity of the epoxy insulation on the electrical windings of your generator. Testing more frequently may be recommended, depending on your equipment application.
    Every 24 months
    • Engine battery replacement. Protect your generator set or fire pump engine from failing to start.
      • Inspect electrical system and ensure the battery charger is properly adjusted
      • Inspect engine starter and amperage under normal operating conditions
      • Install new batteries
    Every 36 months
    • Cooling system maintenance and fluid replacement. Ensure the proper function of your generator’s cooling system.
      • Drain and flush cooling system and refill with high-grade antifreeze
      • Replace coolant hoses, including engine block heater hoses
      • Replace engine thermostats and test for proper operation
    • Full engine and generator inspection and adjustment. Prolong the life of your equipment and ensure it will function as intended.
      • Adjust engine valves and set to factory specifications
      • Check ignition and injector timing where applicable
      • Check rear generator bearings, lubricate as necessary
      • Inspect generator wiring, space heaters, coupling and guards, generator fan drive, and meters and voltage regulator

    Critical Power
