Celebrating Women in Construction Week: Recognizing Contributions and Opportunities

The construction industry is built on skill, dedication, and innovation—and the contributions of women in the field are an essential part of that success. Women in Construction (WIC) Week, held March 2-8, 2025, is a time to highlight the important role women play in construction, recognize their accomplishments, and encourage more opportunities for the next generation.

What is Women in Construction Week?

Women in Construction Week was established by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) to raise awareness of the growing impact of women in the industry. This week-long event brings attention to the careers available in construction and celebrates the skills, expertise, and leadership that women bring to the jobsite, the office, and beyond.

Across the country, construction companies, trade organizations, and local NAWIC chapters host events, discussions, and networking opportunities designed to support and connect women in the industry. From hands-on workshops to leadership panels, these events help women in construction build stronger professional networks and continue advancing in their careers.

Why It Matters

Construction is an industry of opportunity. With technology evolving and the demand for skilled professionals growing, there has never been a better time for women to pursue careers in the field. Today, women are working as equipment operators, engineers, project managers, service technicians, and in many other critical roles that keep the industry moving forward.

At Ziegler CAT, we recognize the importance of building the strongest workforce possible. We see firsthand the expertise, dedication, and leadership that women bring to our team and the customers we serve. By supporting initiatives like WIC Week, we aim to encourage even more individuals to consider careers in construction and heavy equipment, ensuring the industry continues to thrive for years to come.
