Through our Student Technician Internship Program, we collaborate with local community and technical colleges to identify top talent and place them on a clear path to long-term employment. This hands-on program immerses students in real-world experience at Ziegler Shops, where they work with cutting-edge technology under the guidance of seasoned, highly trained technicians. Internship Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in a degree program for diesel engine mechanics, construction, agriculture equipment or related study
• Own a mechanics tool set
• Positive attitude and desire to work as a team player
• Ability to maintenance a safe and clean work environment

Internship benefits:

• Compensation: Internships are paid. Interns also are eligible to receive scholarship money if they meet all the eligibility requirements (AAS degree program and maintain good grades).

• Mentors: Each Intern Technician has an experienced Technician in the shop as a mentor. The mentor helps the Intern Technician learn more about The Ziegler Way, navigating technical resources, and guide them through working situations.

• Flexible working hours: Intern Technicians have different school schedules and each of the shops can adjust based on their needs. First year students can work up to 28 hours/week; 40 hours/week their second year, if school schedule allows.

• Apparel: Uniforms as well as safety PPE, including safety boot allowance, gloves and safety glasses, are provided to all Intern technicians.

• Training: Full access to web-based technical training and Ziegler Technical Instructors.

• Cross Training: Ability to intern in different areas/business units of interest as opportunities exist (Agriculture, Construction, Power Systems, Rebuild Center, etc.)
