Gilberto Andrade didn’t plan on becoming a business owner. Like many entrepreneurs, his journey started with side gigs, long hours, and a growing passion for landscaping. “I’ve been doing landscaping for about 12 years,” Andrade shared. “Bluestone officially became a business five years ago, but I was doing jobs long before that. It’s always been something I loved.”

Today, Bluestone Landscape and Design is based in Minnesota and specializes in hardscape projects—think patios, retaining walls, and custom outdoor spaces. While the company also handles general landscaping, Andrade says patio design is where his creativity really comes to life. “We do all kinds of landscaping,” he said. “But I really love designing patios. When we get the chance to do something cool, that’s what I get excited about.”

The business has grown steadily over the years, thanks to Andrade’s commitment to quality and customer service. “I just try to give my clients 110%,” he said. “Keep growing, keep delivering and always keep my word. That’s what matters most to me.”

Recently, Andrade got an unexpected boost when he won the Ziegler Tow and Go Sweepstakes. The prize included a Towmaster T-12D trailer and a 500-hour rental of a 250 skid steer—equipment that will help Bluestone take on larger projects more efficiently. “I totally forgot I even signed up,” he said with a laugh. “Dustin from Ziegler had been trying to reach me, and when he finally said I won, I thought he’d been hacked.”

Up until now, Andrade has relied on a compact dingo for most of his jobs. Having access to his own larger equipment, he said, will be a game-changer. “I’ve had access to bigger skids, but it’s nice to have your own,” he said. “This will make a big difference.”

He also praised the Ziegler team for their support throughout the process. “Everyone I’ve met from the team has been great,” Andrade said. “Dustin kept in touch, checked in and made the whole process easy.”

Bluestone Landscape and Design showcases its work on social media, where you can find them on Instagram and Facebook at @BluestoneLandscapeDesign. As for what’s next, Andrade is feeling grateful and optimistic. “I’m just thankful,” he said. “Thankful to Ziegler, and thankful to everyone who’s supported us. We’re excited for what’s next.”
