Q: Is the Trimble SCS900 right for surveying work?
A:
The SCS900 has been built specifically for the contractor. It is a simplified interface to Trimble GPS receivers. It does not collect raw data for post processing. It computes and stores coordinates in the site reference frame only. It was designed to meet the needs of the grade checker, supervisor or project manager working on a construction site.
While SCS900 is not designed to meet the needs of a Land Surveyor, it may offer solutions that complement the surveyors existing data collector to meet the needs of certain applications or ability level of the user.
